Rongjali Bwisagu fever grips Assam’s Chirang; new year festivities take over Bodo Tribe

Chirang (Assam), April 17 (ANI): Welcoming their new year in the most joyful way possible, Assam’s Bolo Tribe celebrated the Rongjali Bwisagu in Chirang. From singing to dancing in vibrant traditional attires, the tribe enjoyed the festival to its fullest. The celebration had everyone engaged regardless of their age, from tiny kids to aged people, everyone was equally involved in the celebration. Briefing about the festival, United People's Party Liberal leaders also extended their wishes to the people. The 7-day festival is celebrated to welcome the new year and is one of the most popular seasonal festivals in Assam. The tribe worships Lord Shiva during this festival.
