Persons with disabilities will soon get benefits under BPL category: CM Gehlot

Jaipur(Rajasthan) December 4 (ANI): Rajasthan Government would provide facilities similar to BPL to the persons with disabilities soon. Decision regarding this will be made soon. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced this in the state level 'Divyangjan Samman Ceremony' on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).During virtual programme, District Collectors honoured differently-abled persons and institutions at the state level, doing remarkable work for the welfare of PwDs. Along with this, assistive devices were also provided to PwDs.Addressing the ceremony, the chief minister said that after ensuring increase in reservation for the PwDs in government services from three percent to four percent and increase in pension amount, this would be another big step to provide relief to Persons with disabilities.The chief minister said that making PwDs self-reliant through education and skill development is on the top priority of the government. For this, facilities and assistance like special equipment, scholarship, smartphones, grants and loans are being provided to them. Along with this, they are also getting pension of Rs 750 to Rs 1500. More than 5 lakh 60 thousand PwDs are getting the benefit of pension in the state, he added.
