Bijapur CMHO-led medical team brave flooded river to provide healthcare in cut-off Meenoor village

Bijapur (Karnataka), September 7, 2025 (ANI): Amid the ongoing monsoon in Bastar, healthcare workers in Bijapur have demonstrated exemplary dedication and resilience. Rising rivers and overflowing streams have made access to interior villages extremely difficult, yet health teams continue to risk their lives to ensure essential medical services reach the most vulnerable. A recent effort led by Bijapur CMHO Dr. B.R. Pujari and his team highlighted this commitment. To set up a health camp in Meenoor village, the team braved the swollen Chintawagu river, transporting vaccines and life-saving medicines on small wooden boats crafted by villagers. Meenoor, with no hospital and its sub-health center located across the river, faces heightened risk of seasonal diseases during the rains. Despite these challenges, the health team conducted a full camp, offering treatment and preventive care. Their mission underscores the courage and sense of duty of healthcare staff, who continue serving inaccessible villages across Bijapur’s four blocks.
