The film starring My Tam and Mai Tai Phen was 'overshadowed'

Hanoi [Vietnam], March 13: After leading the box office for about a week, My Tam's film 'Tai' was unexpectedly overtaken by the horror project 'The Corpse Possessed 2' in terms of daily revenue.
According to data from Box Office Vietnam, as of 3 PM on March 12th, the film " The Corpse Possessed 2" had grossed over 6.7 billion VND despite being in its early screening period. This achievement brings director Pom Nguyen's project's total revenue to over 12.5 billion VND to date. Furthermore, the film, starring Quang Tuan and Kha Nhu , has surpassed "Tai" by My Tam and Mai Tai Phen to lead the Vietnamese box office in daily revenue.
According to Box Office Vietnam, the second highest-grossing film on March 12th was "Tai ," with 1.8 billion VND, equivalent to over 22,000 tickets sold. Meanwhile, the remaining three positions in the top 5 were held by "Tho Oi" (553 million VND), "Cam On Nguoi Da Thuc Cung Toi" (285 million VND), and " Khong Con Chung Ta" (168 million VND). It's clear that, despite only having early screenings, " Quy Nhap Trang 2" has garnered significant audience attention, with its box office revenue far surpassing its competitors.

Ghost Possession 2 is a prequel to the story of Minh Như, who returns to her family's dyeing workshop after years of being ostracized. Directed by Pom Nguyễn, the project features a cast including Vân Dung, Phương Bình , Quang Tuấn, Khả Như, Ngọc Hương, Doan Quốc Đam, and others.
The film "Possessed by a Corpse 2" is rated T18, reflecting a significantly upgraded level of horror. Beyond exploring spiritual horror, the film delves into family relationships, past secrets, and the consequences of wrong choices, creating a multi-layered emotional narrative. Prior to its release, director Pom Nguyen's project surprised everyone by surpassing 50,000 advance ticket sales, becoming the Vietnamese horror film with the highest number of advance tickets ever.
Sharing his thoughts on returning to acting in "The Corpse Possessed 2," Quang Tuan said that in the past year, he had many projects that reached the 100 billion VND mark. For the actor, besides hard work, it was also a stroke of luck in his career.
"When people watch my films, they feel satisfied, there are comparisons, some praise, some criticize, or conflicting opinions, and I appreciate them all. When people give me honest feedback, I feel fortunate. From the beginning, when I take on a role, I always try my best for myself first, and for the audience who have paid to support me. I don't want to disappoint them," he expressed.
Khả Như shared that she was touched by the affection everyone showed for the project. According to the actress, she and the cast and crew put in a lot of effort during the making of "The Corpse Possessed." The 8X actress confessed: "After the first part premiered, I never thought I would continue with the second part of the film. This project is our way of showing our appreciation to everyone; it represents all our efforts over the past time."
