The 3 billion VND crown found to have fake diamonds: What does the sponsor say?
Jul 24, 2026
Hanoi [Vietnam], July 24: midst the controversy surrounding the Miss Business Global 2023 crown, a representative from the sponsor has also spoken out to express their views on the matter.
In recent days, a TikTok video of user DV taking her crown for verification has caused a stir on social media. Along with the post, the user stated that the incident happened three years ago. At the time, in order to have evidence for a meeting with the organizers, she had to go to many places to get the necessary certification. However, the poster also mentioned that no place dared to issue the certification.
"I posted this so that others wouldn't be scammed like I was at that time. And if the authorities investigate, I'm ready to cooperate," this person added.
Currently, according to our observations, the two clips of the crown verification process posted on TikTok have attracted millions of views, demonstrating public interest in the matter. Netizens are also actively discussing this controversy.
Some believe the account holder DV was courageous for speaking the truth and questioning the true value of the crown. Others recognized it as the crown from the Miss Business Global 2023 competition, raising concerns about the responsibility of the organizers and sponsors in this controversy.
What did the crown sponsor say?
After contacting the organizers to inquire about the controversy surrounding the "3 billion VND crown found to be entirely made of fake diamonds," we also raised the issue with the crown's sponsor. Speaking to Thanh Nien newspaper, a representative from the sponsor stated that, legally, the circulating video does not prove whether the location shown is an authorized gemological testing facility. "Currently, we don't know who the testing agency is, so we have nothing to comment on," the representative added.
The representative also added that they would abide by the sponsorship contract signed with the competition organizer. If there are any issues related to the contract, they will be ready to clarify them. "Before the products are shipped, they are all registered for industrial design protection and each is accompanied by a gemstone appraisal certificate," the representative further affirmed.
The sponsor stated that sponsored products always have a launch event and a video clearly showcasing the materials. The recent incident has had a significant impact, but the brand maintains that "true gold fears no fire."
"If the video clearly identifies the store, we will go and ask on what basis the certification was made and whether they have the authority to conduct inspections. Right now, we cannot comment because everything is still unclear," the sponsor stated.
From this incident, public opinion suggests that beauty pageants need to be more transparent when communicating prize values, especially with large sums that can create expectations and lead to different interpretations among the public. Ultimately, a crown may be considered a symbol. But when its value is announced as a specific number, the public has every right to question: how was that number calculated?
