Sri Lanka appoints 8 committees to improve investment environment

Colombo [Sri Lanka], September 2: Sri Lankan President RanilWickremesinghe has established eight task forces consisting of heads of public and private institutions to improve the investment environment.
The task forces will look at all procedures, regulations and actions of government agencies entrusted with promoting business.
They are expected to facilitate business starting-up for investors, reducing obstacles in obtaining construction permits, registering business property, getting loans, making cross-border trade and paying taxes.
President's Secretary SamanEkanayake said this is another effort of the government to create a favorable environment for investors.
