Dallas [US], July 5: Egypt beat Australia in a penalty shootout to advance to the Round of 16 after a 1-1 draw in Dallas on Friday.
Egypt created fresh history in Dallas as they earned their first knockout win at a World Cup finals, beating Australia 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Egypt will face the winner of Friday's later game between Argentina and Cape Verde.
